Bundles

A Bundle in Blueprint Studio allows you to group multiple components — such as materials, labor, or related items — into a single sellable unit for the client. This makes it easy to price complex items as one package, while keeping detailed cost breakdowns hidden from the client.

Example: A “Wallpaper Installation” bundle might include:

  • Wallpaper (3 yards)

  • Labor (4 hours to install)

🎯 Why Use Bundles

Bundles are ideal for situations where:

  • You want to combine several products and services into one line item.

  • You need to present a single client price while tracking internal cost details.

  • You want Blueprint Studio to automatically calculate total cost, shipping, tariff, and tax behind the scenes.

⚙️ How Bundles Work

A bundle is made up of component items that define what goes into producing one unit of the bundle.

  • Each component’s quantity represents the amount required to produce one bundle.

  • The unit cost of the bundle is auto-calculated based on the total costs of all its components.

  • Shipping and Tariff charges are summed from the components to determine the bundle’s total shipping and tariff values.

  • Sales Tax is calculated on the bundle’s selling price, not on the components individually.

Even if a bundle includes both taxable and non-taxable items, the system calculates sales tax on the bundle’s total client price to ensure correct tax treatment.

🧾 Example

Component
Quantity
Cost
Shipping

Taxable

Wallpaper

3 yards

$200

$25

$10

Labor

4 hours

$150

Bundle Summary:

  • Bundle Cost: $350 (sum of component costs)

  • Bundle Shipping: $25

  • Bundle Tariff: $10

  • Bundle Sell Price: User-entered (e.g., $700)

  • Taxable Amount: Entire bundle total ($700) if marked taxable

The bundle price presented to the client is a single, clean total — the components remain visible only to internal users.

Shipping

Sum of all component shipping amounts.

Tariff

Sum of all component tariffs.

Bundle Price

Sales Tax

Calculated on bundle’s total selling price.

You can view or edit the bundle’s totals anytime — the system will automatically re-sync values when components change.

👁️ Visibility & Reporting

  • Clients see only the bundle as a single line item — component details remain hidden.

  • Team members and administrators can expand and view bundle components internally.

  • Bundle components are included in project costing, vendor reporting, and profitability analysis.

  • Bundles can be used in Proposals, Purchase Orders, and Invoices like any other item.

🧭 Best Practices

  • Define clear, reusable bundles for recurring combinations (e.g., “Custom Drapery + Installation”).

  • Always enter component quantities relative to one bundle unit.

  • Ensure all cost and shipping values are accurate before using bundles in client documents.

  • Review tax settings to confirm the bundle-level tax code matches your jurisdiction’s rules.

  • Keep bundle names client-friendly — internal cost details stay hidden automatically.

✅ Summary

1

Create a new Bundle item under your project.

2

Add component items and define quantities.

3

Let Blueprint Studio auto-calculate cost, shipping, and tariff totals.

4

Set a selling price and tax code for the bundle.

5

Use the bundle in proposals, invoices, and budgets as a single line item.

Bundles make it simple to sell complex combinations of products and services as one professional, transparent package — while keeping internal cost tracking and reporting accurate behind the scenes. ✨
